It was a struggle to reach Lake Logipi in Kenya’s Rift Valley south of Lake Turkana. During a period of six hours I only managed to drive 10 km in first gear low with my Land Cruiser. Finally the track got so bad that the journey ended 5 km away from the lake shore. To add to the bad luck there was only a very small patch of rock-free terrain where I could relatively safely take off with my powered paraglider. In the end everything worked out extremely well and I enjoyed one of the most beautiful experiences I ever had while cruising in the sky for 2 hours. Besides seeing thousands of flamingos in the shallow water the landscape surrounding the lake was decorated with colorful patterns. My eyes caught this small delta at the southern end of the lake. I was so captivated by its simple graphics and color that I almost forgot about the fuel level in my tank; I still had to fly 20 kilometers back to the camp.
