I photographed Majesty in May 2019 from a small ship cruising along the west coast of Spitsbergen
In Svalbard during late April and May most mountains are still covered under a thick layer of snow. The weather can change from clear and sunny to rainy, snowy or stormy just within a period of 24 hours. The changes of mood and light are a landscape photographer’s dream.
The Svalbard Islands are located in the Arctic Ocean, halfway between Norway and the North Pole. Here, you will find untouched arctic wilderness and unique wildlife in a setting that is both rugged and fragile at the same time.
In addition to a few thousand polar bears, the islands are home to almost 3,000 human inhabitants, over 2,000 of which live in Longyearbyen, the administrative center and largest settlement of the islands.
The Majesty black and white fine art print has a limited edition of only 100. Most other fine art photographers have a much higher limited edition number. The lower the number the higher is the value of the print. Please also browse through my other limited editions Special Limited Fine Art Prints (edition of ONLY 25) and Exclusive Art Collector Prints (edition of ONLY 5).
