Description
The dunes around Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert have attracted me since my first visit in 1995. Meanwhile I have visited the area on many occasions, never getting tired of the play of light and shadow when the sun is low at the horizon. Dune photography is also a great weight loss exercise. Carrying a heavy camera gear and tripod up the dunes on the lee side is quite a struggle…but one worth it every time. I used a long tele lens to isolate these diagonal dune crests and turn this image into an abstract.
