The dunes around Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert have attracted me since my first visit in 1995. Meanwhile I have visited the area on many occasions, never getting tired of the play of light and shadow when the sun is low at the horizon.
After years of photographing the big desert-scape I recently started looking for details in the sand. Too often I used to overlook the small things right in front of me. This has changed. Maybe it has to do with getting short sighted?
