Wave Art
While driving with a motor boat on the Cuiaba River in the northern Pantanal/Brazil in search of the majestic jaguar I noticed these beautiful reflection circles that were caused by the boat wake in combination with the low sun.
The Pantanal is the largest contiguous wetland on earth. It is situated in the geographical center of South America. While the largest part lies within the borders of Brazil a small area in the west extends into Bolivia and Paraguay. The Pantanal is a huge, gently-sloped basin that receives runoff from the upland areas and slowly releases the water through the Paraguay River and tributaries. It constitutes an enormous internal river delta, in which several rivers flowing from the surrounding plateau merge, depositing their sediments and erosion residues, which have been filling, throughout the years, the large depression area of the Pantanal.
The Wave Art fine art print has a limited edition of only 100. Most other fine art photographers have a much higher limited edition number. The lower the number the higher is the value of the print. Please also browse through my other limited editions Special Limited Fine Art Prints (edition of ONLY 25) and Exclusive Art Collector Prints (edition of ONLY 5).
I have worked in the Pantanal for one year on several endangered wildlife stories as well as on a book titled “Pantanal – South America’s Wetland Jewel” in cooperation with Conservation International.
