Description
The quiver tree is my favourite Namibian plant. It is actually an aloe (Aloe dichotoma), a succulent, not a tree. It is indigenous to the Northern Cape region of South Africa and parts of Southern Namibia. The branches were used by bushmen (san) as quivers for their arrows.
I love everything about them, the rough golden trunk, the flowers and their branches. There is no plant I have photographed more often than the quiver tree. In this photo I wanted to isolate the abstract beauty of the branches.
