Description
In Svalbard most mountains are still covered under a thick layer of snow until early June. The weather can change from clear and sunny to rainy, snowy or stormy just within a period of 24 hours. The changes of mood and light are a landscape photographer’s dream.
I took this image during a whiteout while cruising with a small ship in one of the northern Spitsbergen fjords. The clouds cover the mountain like a thin white veil adding mood and mystery to the cold Arctic landscape.
